FolkRock'nBlues Night
Saturday, November 18th, 2017
7:30 PM
STEFANI VALADEZ & STEVE MOOS have been sharing their musical vibe around Los Angeles for 12 years. They describe their show as ‘FolkRock’n Blues’ - a mixture of originals & classic covers with influences from Muddy Waters, Dylan, Taj, New Orleans, World, Folk, traditional, Latin, Celtic and more. Stef & Steve are both super talented singer/ songwriters & accomplished musicians. They are as comfortable with a New Orleans Mardi Gras mambo as they are with a love ballad from Middle East. Together and apart, they have performed with such artists as Big Joe Turner, Air Supply, The Bonedaddy's, Mary Wells, Oingo-Boingo, Pointer Sisters, & Pete Seeger. By skillfully overlapping beats and styles they create unforgettable musical moments, that will delight those who like to dance, listen or do both. They have a unique approach on stage delivering their funky, soulful and inspirational repertoire along with their ‘heavenly-handed’ rhythm section of Rick Moors on Bass and Christo Pellani on percussion. Special surprise guests often join them. Stefani is also known for her World Music Ensemble, SVE. Her musical roots and talents are quite varied. She started out singing with Pete Seeger at 9 years old. She sings in 5 languages and plays a mean guitar as well as Dulcimer, uke & cavaco. Steve is an amazing songwriter known for his band The Painkillers. He plays mandolin, guitars and piano. His style is warm, soulful & inviting… and damn gritty when it has to be! Steve’s originals all feel like classics. IT’S INFECTIOUS. special guests: DON KIRKPATRICK on lead guitar, Al Keith on vox & percussion, Carol MacArthur on Bgs , Gary Johnson on Squeezebox, Mark Tyson on lead guitars, Gabe Steiner on Trumpet, Mark Leggett on lead guitar, Bruno Coon on percussion and vox, Leo Chelyapov on Clarinet
