Special Invitation: Join us for an exciting concert and cocktail hour on Sat., Nov. 18 in Manhattan. From 6-7pm there is a cocktail hour where all guests receive free drinks and catered refreshments. Your ticket allows you to hear any or all of the dynamic performances from noon to 10pm, and the cocktail hour. Founded by pianist and artistic director, Joel Fan, the concert crosses boundaries of contemporary, jazz, and electronic music. Outstanding performers include the JACK Quartet, TIGUE percussion trio; electronic music luminaries and ADR and Teengirl Fantasy; jazz guitarist Ben Monder; cellist Jeffrey Zeigler; and the singer Jeff Gavett, and the dynamic septet Cellar and Point. Pianist Joel Fan will premiere a brand new work for solo piano featuring world-renowned composers Augusta Read Thomas, Bernard Rands, Evan Ziporyn, Christine Southworth, Julia Wolfe, Michael Gordon, Wang Lu and Anthony Cheung. Jeffrey Zeigler Biography
Former cellist of the Kronos Quartet. Described as “fiery”, and a player who performs “with unforced simplicity and beauty of tone” by the New York Times, Zeigler has given many notable premiers including works by John Adams, Damon Albarn (Gorillaz), John Corigliano, Bryce Dessner, Henryk Gorecki, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, JG Thirlwell and John Zorn and he has collaborated with Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Hauschka, Vijay Iyer, Glenn Kotche, Yo-Yo Ma, Kimmo Pohjonen, Foday Musa Suso, Tanya Tagaq and Tom Waits.
In Fall 2014, Zeigler released his first solo album, Something of Life. The album features world premier recordings of works by Philip Glass, Glenn Kotche, Felipe Perez Santiago, Paola Prestini, Gity Razaz and John Zorn. Mr. Zeigler has released over three dozen recordings for Nonesuch Records, Deutsche Grammophon and Smithsonian Folkways and has appeared with Norah Jones on her album Not Too Late on Blue Note Records. Zeigler can also be heard on the film soundtrack for Paola Sorrentino’s Academy Award winning film, La Grande Bellezza, as well as Clint Mansell's Golden Globe nominated soundtrack, The Fountain, featuring performances with the Scottish band, Mogwai.
