A benefit for Planned Parenthood of New York City (PPNYC) with Latasha Alcindor & Precolumbian (DJ set) 6:30pm doors // 7:00pm show // 18+ $25 More info: For 100 years, Planned Parenthood of New York City (PPNYC) has been a beacon of hope for the thousands of individuals and families who rely on us for essential reproductive health care, innovative educational programs, and effective advocacy. This benefit will support our five health centers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island to continue to provide state-of-the-art reproductive health care. Whether the need is for contraception, pregnancy tests, abortion services, or tests for sexually transmitted infections, we’re here for our patients – regardless of their age, gender, immigration status, or ability to pay. About CupcakKe: CupcakKe, (also known as Elizabeth Eden Harris) is a rapper and songwriter born and raised in Chicago. Elizabeth began rapping at the age of 14, starting off doing church poetry, she received the nickname "CupcakKe" and she later began to rap. Her first song "Gold Digger" went viral on internet in 2012. Songs such as "Money" (2012) and "Yo Lost" (2014) gained attention. In 2015 she broke the internet with her sexually charged anthems "Vagina" and "Deepthroat" and in February 2016 she released her first album entitled "Cum Cake". For more on CupCakKe: About Latasha Alcindor: Latasha Alcindor, also informally addressed as "LA," is A MULti-Talented independent music and visual artist based out of New York City. Her form-free art travels through a wide range of inspiration found in Experimental, Dance, Jazz, Electronic and Hip Hop music. LA’s energetic calls and performance-based sound have opened doors for her to perform at culturally prestigious events like SXSW, A3C, and Manifesto. In 2016, she performed as the headlining act for Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturdays, Toronto's AGO First Thursdays and became an artist in residence to New York's unparalleled, National Sawdust. Latasha finds resonance in speaking and exhibiting works of art in musical and ViSual mediums From graphics to film on her personal story, social commentary and cultural experiences in her music, promoting a much needed agenda for those looking to find inner peace, specifically young women of color. About Precolombian: Precolumbian is a Philadelphia-based DJ, musician, and cultural creator. Her work operates as a medium for empowerment and decolonization and was honored with the 2013 Leeway Foundation Transformation Award.
