About this concert
Join us in supporting our community of local artists + creative entrepreneurs FRIENDSGIVING is our annual kick-off to the holiday season; an end-of-year showcase and fundraiser for friends of the Collective and community. FriendsGiving allows us to support and highlight the artists we’ve met throughout the year with an evening of live performance and visual art exhibitions, artwork and merchandise for sale, raffles, refreshments and top-notch audio selections + family gathering feels. With more than 25 artists on display - featuring visual artists and photographers - you'll want to spend some time taking in all of the exhibitions before the performances begin. Come mingle with the artists and view the galleries during the Artist Reception + Gallery Hour at 7:00pm - artwork and artist merch, along with local community vendings will be up for sale throughout the evening. Once the night kicks off, you're in for an eclectic mix of musical performances, spoken words, dance, virtual displays and more! **PLUS, there might be a closing dance session ... the DEAL-io: Admission is FREE with advance RSVP; an entry donation of $10 will be collected at the door - or - an art supply donation will gladly be accepted Attendees may donate in the name of an artist or the organizaton - if you'd like to make a donation select said option and select the recipient name at checkout All donations and artwork sale proceeds go directly to the named artist and/or the SLAPcollective for future programming

Twelve45 Biography

Twelve45 is a New York based DJ/Producer. Known for her smooth transitions and blends, she believes a great mix reveals a special space where artists share the same musical frequency. Twelve45 approaches all mixes with purpose and intent. Her mix series ‘12 by Twelve’ is used to highlight different genres, artists, and pivotal moments in music history while telling a story.

Starting the Scratch DJ Academy’s Certification program in March 2014, Twelve45 blazed through the curriculum, finishing top of her class in October 2014. Not wasting any time, she quickly followed up that achievement by receiving certification in Scratch’s Music Production program in January 2015.

From playing the drums in high school to now sequencing them in Ableton, she has personally benefitted from music education and aims to share her knowledge with future generations of musicians. A former mathematics teacher with a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Twelve45 enjoys relating to students through their passion for music. Through the non-profit Building Beats she has been able to support students through their creative process and further their skills both in music and life.

Since starting her DJ career, her talents have taken her to New York staples like Von Bar, Friends & Lovers, Trophy Bar, Ace Hotel and Elvis Guesthouse. She was also one of the featured DJs at Curlfest in Prospect Park. Using music as her medium, Twelve45 aims to share a body of work that is both entertaining and edifying.
