About this concert
On Friday 17th November 2017, 40 Shillings On The Drum shall be recording their ‘Live at The Albert’ album at The Prince Albert in Brighton, and you’re invited to be a part of it! You can expect to hear songs from their debut EP, 'Beggars Who Believe', along with other favourites and some brand new songs too! The album is to be released both physically and digitally in early January, prior to the band’s UK tour (full list of dates announced soon). 40 Shillings on the Drum are also currently supporting the ‘Connect 4 Loneliness’ campaign from Brighton & Hove Impetus Brighton & Hove has one of the highest rates of loneliness in the UK and people's lives can be devastated by it. Brighton & Hove Impetus are fighting to tackle the issue - find out more and make your pledge of support for their Connect 4 Loneliness Campaign at: http://bh-impetus.org/connect4 There will be raffle tickets available on the night with some great prizes up for grabs! Limited edition CDs of 40 Shillings on the Drum’s debut EP, ‘Beggars Who Believe’ will also be available to purchase. Doors open at 8pm and entry is only £5 (and that includes a donation to Impetus! Live music and doing your bit for charity - awesome!). ‘I love the energy on these recordings, it's something that I think is really missing from contemporary music. There is obviously an Irish influence, but I hear shades of The Clash (at their best), Thin Lizzy, Boomtown Rats, Elvis Costello. You've really managed to capture the feeling that you are reflecting real people on the street.’ Mark Flannery, Engineer/Producer (U2, Black Sabbath, Depeche Mode) ‘Opener Ode To Old Reilly set the tone of a band big on musicianship and melody — and intelligent lyrics with both a meaning and enough hooks to get under the skin of even the most hardened music lover.’ The Brighton Magazine, brighton.co.uk Support will come from Duncan Mckenzie ; Musician, Singer, Songwriter. As a session guitarist Duncan has played many major studios including Decca, EMI and Abbey Road Studios. Duncan also played in a duo for many years with guitar legend, Big Jim Sullivan. Duncan’s playing ranges from emotional ballads to dynamic techniques and intricate finger styles, this together with his distinctive vocals, makes him a popular choice at festivals, concerts and private functions worldwide. ‘We just loved listening to your music playing and passion, I can't wait to see you perform again’ Ray Williams (discovered Elton John and many others!) ‘Duncan has written some lovely songs and deserves the exposure, as a guitarist, he can proudly hold his head up on any stage alongside any top guitar player’ Big Jim Sullivan Social Media Links: Facebook: Band - http://facebook.com/40shillingsonthedrum Support - https://www.facebook.com/damckenzie1 Charity - http://facebook.com/BHimpetus Instagram: Band - http://instagram.com/40shillingsonthedrum Charity - http://instagram.com/BHimpetus Twitter: Band - http://twitter.com/40shillings Charity - http://twitter.com/BHimpetus Spotify: 'Beggars Who Believe EP' https://open.spotify.com/album/0DD19JADCk5AouquvdtNar Buy on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/beggars-who-believe-ep/id1275398800 Official Artist Website: http://40shillingsonthedrum.uk/ http://www.duncanmckenzie.com/

CREATURE CREATURE UK Biography
Brighton's Creature Creature, an alt-rock/punk force, emerged with a fervor to shake up the music scene. Comprised of Scully (Daniel Scully, frontman), Zeus (Steve Cobley, guitar), Seb Cole (keyboard/backing vocals), Dave Cobley (bass), and Matt Hill (drums), they debuted with Two Finger Tantrum in 2020. Despite a pandemic-induced setback, they've shown remarkable resilience, channeling their energy into crafting their new upcoming EP, “The Noise” (recorded by Billy Lunn of The Subways and mixed by Tommy Gleeson of Feeder).
Renowned for a dynamic sound that draws from diverse influences like Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes to Royal Blood, their music is a rich tapestry of modern beats and old-school rock. Notably, Creature Creature's affinity for cinema both retro and contemporary permeates their work, with tracks like "Video Nasty" and “No Time To Die”. Lauded for their captivating live performances, they are poised for a resurgence, their narrative marked by perseverance, innovation, and a compelling fusion of music with undying resolve.
