Pete Boss comes back out to play - AGAIN!
Pete first achieved recognition as a founder member of Oxford-based band The Elmores, a widely respected modern blues outfit whose live performances and album Alone in the Country earned the band popular and critical acclaim in the blues fraternity both at home and abroad; their original instrumental Little Stevie's Shuffle features on the soundtrack of the British feature film I Went Down.
The powerful and inventive style of Pete's playing earned him a Best British Blues Guitarist award in a national competition in 1989 and he has recorded albums with George 'Wild Child' Butler, Dana Gillespie and Earl Green. Performing a mixture of original and classic material with long-time associate Tex Elmore featured on vocals, the band draw on a wealth of musical experience and versatility, and anyone who has seen the band play will agree that they are exceptional in their spontaneity and power as they combine blues virtuosity with distinctively modern approaches to the repertoire. As well as playing widely in Europe, the band have recorded sessions for the Paul Jones Blues Show on Radio 2 and David Freeman's Blues and Boogie Show on Jazz FM.
Having had them play a scorching show for us last Feb, we are thrilled to have them back at The Haven Club in 2018.
