There's a reason hitting 1,000 notes in a row on "Guitar Hero II" earns you the Yngwie Malmsteen Award -- he's pretty much the definition of a "guitar hero." In the '80s, this demon of the fretboard pioneered the neo-classical style of heavy metal, drawing on composers like Bach and Paganini to create his blazing fast, Baroque sound. That innovation and virtuosic ability led "Time" magazine to name him one of the 10 greatest electric guitarists ever in 2009. Whether he's touring alongside Joe Satriani and Steve Vai or recording an original concerto suite with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, this prolific shredder shows no sign of slowing down. Last year saw the release of his 21st studio album, "World on Fire". Now, you can catch him at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.
