The Broken String Band: Hailing from the Classic City - Athens, GA - The Broken String Band is re-defining what it means to play folk music. From its beginnings with founding vocalist Taylor Thompson and songwriter/banjo player Sean Stephansen, the aptly named band has been breaking strings with the intensity and excitement of their performances from Nashville to Atlanta since 2015. The later additions of Laura Camacho (stand-up bass) and John Phillips (drums/multi-instrumentalist) from the Athens Tango Project and long-time roadie turned member Mitch Louis Kyle (saxophone/auxiliary percussionist) created an eclectic group of musicians that exemplifies The Broken String Band’s sound: diverse, unique and dynamic.

With a live performance that combines alluring, hard-hitting lyrics and harmonies with thrashing banjo, tango-driven bass lines, and the occasional accordion or flute, The Broken String Band encapsulates the feel-good vibe of acoustic jamming with a dash of classical culture thrown in for good measure. Though the group takes on the appearance of a traditional folk act as they take the stage, ample excitement lies in their unexpectedly electrifying style of performing that could feel at home at any rock & roll show. While their debut EP, Prologue: Somebody’s Daughter, demonstrates their tamer, refined style of recording, their evocative performances are as electrifying as they are emotional; you are as likely to head-bang as you are to well-up with tears, hold hands, and sway slightly from side-to-side.

BEAU + LUCI :
Hailing from the swamplands of Southern Georgia, raised on a heady blend of rock-and-roll and blues and classic country, Beau + Luci mine their rich musical heritage to dream up an extraordinarily timeless sound. On their debut EP, the two sisters infuse their earthy yet lushly textured folk-rock with naturally immaculate harmonies that never fail to captivate. And in their songwriting, 20-year-old Beau and 22-year-old Luci reveal both a sublime sense of wonder and a graceful sophistication well beyond their years.

Kick The Robot:
In the music of Kick the Robot, hook-heavy alt-rock gets shot through with bright harmonies, blistering guitar riffs, and a fantastically bold sensibility. On their sophomore album “Black Magic Radio Static”, the Atlanta/Athens, Georgia-based trio back that flash and swagger with razor-sharp songcraft that gives new depth to the band’s self-described breed of “arena garage rock.” And as shown on songs like the stomping lead single “Supermassive Automatic,” Kick the Robot’s triple-vocal attack and powerful melodies make for some truly transcendent rock & roll.
