Charlie first burst on the scene at the tender age of 13 with an appearance on the BBC's One Show. From there it was a rapid immersion into the UK's music scene - first as a member of National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Tomorrow's Warriors, then to the semifinals of the Montreux Jazz Festival piano competition, to regular gigging with such forward-looking players as Shane Forbes and Nathaniel Facey, to international performances at Nisville Jazz Festival in Serbia and Roscella Bay Festival in France, and alongside Chico Freeman in Sofia, Bulgaria and Sun Ra altoist Marshall Allen. Recently he's performed in major venues as far afield as the USA and Japan. He's currently working with explosive drummer Yussuf Dayes, formerly of Yussuf Kamaal - their performance together was one of the highlights of the 2017 Love Supreme Festival - and with Dayes and Triforce guitarist Mansur Brown. Expect thrilling, high-intensity modern jazz with a contemporary, accessible groove.
