Van Morrison and Joey DeFrancesco
Tuesday, October 24th, 2017
Debuting a new collaboration, Morrison performs alongside an ensemble led by jazz organ maestro Joey DeFrancesco for these exclusive performances. A GRAMMY-nominated phenomenon who began playing at age four and signed his first record deal at age 16, DeFrancesco is largely responsible for the resurgence of the Hammond organ in jazz. Son of organ master “Papa” John DeFrancesco and protégé of the great Jimmy Smith, DeFrancesco was “discovered” by Miles Davis and remains the most virtuosic and electrifying organist in jazz, recording over 30 albums and winning the DownBeat Critics Poll nine times.
