James Kerr will be singing a few songs solo and with Helen Marshall, telling some stories and doing some poetry written for the occasion including what he hopes will be a bit of an epic on Birmingham bands.

Fitting in nicely with the theme of 'Birmingham welcomes Scotland' is that the nomadic Helen spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Birmingham, living in Handsworth, Hockley, Stritchley, Balsall Heath, Moseley and Kings Heath. James moved around the Scottish Borders a fair bit so will contrast these experiences.

Helen and James are both members of Snakeskin Shoe Review, Scotland's premier indie rock folk psike novelty pop band, for which James is the main songwriter. They recently released their first CD "Criticism". Helen also sings in a classical choir. James is also the Regal Radio DJ Dr J.
