Two contemporary jazz giants, Rachelle Ferrell and Najee, come together for a night of beautiful music at the Arena Theatre in Houston. Ferrell cut her teeth as a backup singer for the likes of Lou Rawls and Patti LaBelle in the 1970s. But with her mind-blowing six-octave range (and piano and songwriting skills to match), Ferrell wouldn't stay 20 feet from stardom for very long. Venturing into R&B, gospel, classical and pop, she's gone on to provide the soundtrack to many a romance, with such unforgettable songs as "Gaia," "Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This" and "With Open Arms." Credited with helping to define contemporary urban jazz, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Najee has scored numerous chart-toppers since the '80s. A longtime collaborator with Prince, Najee has also played with Chaka Khan, Quincy Jones and Herbie Hancock. Settle in with your sweetie and feel the romance during this concert of smooth sounds.
