Mid-westerner, Nick Gusman's 1st time in New York takes him to Petes Candy Store.

"Hello to the hard times, goodbye good times...
I'll see you round" is the lyrical hook from the title track on Nick Gusman's debut Folk/Americana record, Dear Hard Times. The song chronicles self doubt and struggles of a career in music, foreshadowing the hard times to come. Though desperation heard on top of the blunt and honest lyrics, underneath there is a wave of confidence.

Dear Hard Times will be released early 2018. Nick's songwriting is cohesive but never monotonous, covering a wide range of topics. Some tracks tell fantastic tales from a lovesick outlaw's diary, Alone in Mexico; or the gruesome death of a Mississippi Pearl Diver. Other tracks are direct reflections of the events, people, and things around us, as told in While they look the other way, and Hold On.

Native to Saint Louis City, Nick began writing and playing guitar at 18 and says the first song he ever wrote was an intergalactic murder ballad. Currently, he is gigging and writing as much as possible in the STL area, but will soon be taking his music to the road in 2018. Keep an eye out for this up and coming artist in your hometown.
