Organised by Altus Arts & Culture, APF is welcoming Spanish pianist Rosa Torres-Pardo at Ankara Piano Festival on Oct 14th, 2017 Rosa Torres-Pardo presents a piano recital celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Enrique Granados. Recital Programme: Enrique Granados: Goyescas -The Compliments -Conversation at the Window -Fandango by Candlelight -Complaint, or the Girl and the Nightingale -Ballad of Love and Death -Epilogue: Serenade to a Spectre Duration: 55 minutes – No intermission Rosa Torres-Pardo received a special graduation award from the Royal High Conservatory of Music of Madrid. She studied with Joaquín Soriano and Gloria Olalla, with María Curcio in London, at the Juilliard School in New York and with Hans Graff in Vienna. She obtained the Masterplayers Prize in Lugano -Switzerland- and made a very successful debut at the Royal Theatre in Madrid, playing Prokofiev. She has worked with great orchestras, such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl and the London Royal Philarmonic, and with conductors such as V. Spivakov, Ch. Dutoit, J. Fournet, T. Vásáry and Y. Termikanov, at halls that include Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington. She has also performed with Plácido Domingo in the United States and has given concerts and recitals in Spain with the best orchestras in the country. She recorded the Goyescas by Enrique Granados for the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon record label, thus writing one of the key chapters in the history of Spanish piano music. That marvellous testimony is to be heard once again at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre in the opening concert of the Autumn Concerts season, where classical fans and all lovers of good music have found their second home. This acclaimed Spanish pianist and musician is without doubt one of the best performers to deliver this masterpiece by Granados, whose centenary, as many of us are aware, is being commemorated this year.
