Breezy, carefree and unpretentious, something unique. Great song writing, performed for sheer love, without an agenda in sight - Clash Magazine.
Orphan Colours are Steve Llewellyn, Dave Burn, Fred Abbott, Steve Brookes and Graham Knight.
After an indefinite hiatus in 2013 with UK Americana outfit Ahab, song writer Steve Llewellyn went on to form a new band, Orphan Colours, with the help of Dave Burn. They enrolled former Ahab member Steve Brookes on drums and Noah and The Whale guitarist Fred Abbott . Fred was in the process of auditioning lead singers for a solo project, but when he heard Llewellyn' s demos for the new Orphan Colours Project, he immediately signed up. Graham was then drafted in on bass and vocals and Orphan Colours were born.
With commercial success, critical acclaim and rock solid credibility firmly in their DNA, the band are bound for success. They released their debut EP in February 2016, and followed it up with an 'Acoustic EP' in December 2017. Their debut album is due for release in November 2017.
Support will come from Rachel Croft from York. Rachel is an extremely talented musician and song writer with an angelic voice. She is a regular at the city's music venues and can regularly be seen busking in the city centre. She is the lead singer of the Croft Mullen Band.
