Lil’ Ed Williams, leader of Lil’ Ed And The Blues Imperials, will make a guest appearance with Billy Branch And The Sons Of Blues at the first annual Logan Center Bluesfest on October 14th. Branch, a three time Grammy nominee, has organized a night to be remembered as part of the inaugural Logan Center Bluesfest. Coming off the Chicago Blues Festival celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Sons of Blues, Branch is bringing the blues back to the South Side by hosting a concert with some of his friends from across Chicago including Jimmy Johnson, Eddy Clearwater, Corky Siegel, Lil’ Ed and Melody Angel. Backed by the Sons of Blues, these stellar musicians will present unforgettable collaborations in a line-up that promises to connect with the oldest blues fans and to inspire new ones.

A pre-concert conversation between Billy Branch and his friends will take place from 6:30-7:30pm in the Performance Hall and is free with a ticket to the concert.

The Logan Center Bluesfest, October 13-15, is an annual public celebration created to honor the South Side roots of the blues’ tradition with concerts, workshops, film, food, and conversation and will feature local and national musicians and artists in spaces throughout the Logan Center. The festival features a series of performances by musicians that reflect the diverse history of the blues tradition; a major archiving program to capture the stories of local and national blues artists; a photography exhibiton; and workshops and educational programming to inspire the next generation of blues musicians and aficionados.
