Back by popular demand soulman, Leigh Coleman, and pianist Matt Carter, return to Jazz Jurassica with another hi-energy gig to kick off 2018. Leigh, who's worked with the legendary soul diva Betty Wright in the States, and our own Joss Stone, brings a soulful jazzy vibe to Matt Carter's exciting piano combo. Leigh's swing standards and soul grooves set him apart from the crowd as one of the finest soul singers around. You're guaranteed a finger snapping evening of soul-driven jazz you won't forget.

Leigh Coleman is developing a national reputation for combining both jazz and funk in a style reminiscent of Stevie Wonder, Gregory Porter and George Benson. He's played alongside Joss Stone, Beverley Knight and Sandie Shaw as well as at Ronnie Scott's.

Matt Carter is a prodigious and versatile young pianist who brings dynamism and drive to jazz standards, soul and blues. Already a twenty-something bandleader in his own right, Matt's developing a national reputation for his Matt Carter Trio. Combined with Leigh on vocals, this remarkably strong bill will deliver soulful jazz classics, from swing to ballads, all night long.

As if to underscore this talented musician, Matt won a place at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music from September and now studies in London - so, we are very lucky to be able to get him back on his home turf for the first Jazz Jurassica gig of  2018.

Leigh Coleman (vocals), Matt Carter (keyboard), Gary Evans (drums) and Tom Drewett (bass).
