At 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 24, 2017, St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Hickory will host a concert featuring three incredibly gifted musicians who have each won national and international acclaim.
Pianist Michael Hanley grew up in Hickory, and in St. Luke's UMC. Michael has performed with the Western Piedmont Symphony on several occasions, and also with the NC Symphony Orchestra. Currently living in Atlanta, where he continues to play concerts, Michael is "returning home" for this special event.

Italian trained opera singer and violinist Maria Elisa Grosso is a "regular" at St. Luke's worship services. She teaches voice and strings, and is becoming very popular as a concert artist in the southeastern USA, as well as in her home country.
Greg Knight was a finalist in last year's Van Clyburn competition. He has performed with the Western Piedmont Symphony, as well as numerous other orchestras. He also was a featured soloist in Germany earlier this year. And I might add, Greg plays every Sunday during worship at St. Luke's UMC.
Admission to the concert is free, but a free-will offering will be taken to offset the expenses of these fine musicians.
We hope you will join us for a wonderful afternoon of some of the finest music you will ever hear! Then stay afterwards for a "meet and greet" with these incredible people.
A meal will be offered prior to the concert. Proceeds of the meal will be used to benefit the music ministry of St. Luke's UMC.
