The name of Clarence Bekker is among the hidden treasures of Barcelona. This flying Dutchman, whose career now stretches back more than 30 years, was “discovered” in 2006 by the American producer Mark Johnson while singing with his guitar in the streets of Barcelona. His recording of the classic “Stand by me”, together with other voices, has now received more than 75 million visits. He has become one of the leading voices in the “Playing for Change” music project, led by stars like Bono, Keith Richards and Manu Chao. A regular at the big soul and jazz festivals in Europe, we will have him at the Jamboree every Thursday with a special guest and the warmth of a line-up packed with the best in jazz and soul groove. As guest today we will have the Cuban musician of Haitian descent, Mel Semé.
