A SECOND GIG ADDED IN THE AREA (BY POPULAR DEMAND) FOR ALL THOSE WHO WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET IN AT THE JOHN SELDEN!British blues legend Chris Farlowe joins veteran of Woodstock Miller Anderson and Sussex Desperate Dan Band frontman Bob Brookes for an evening of Blues Rnb and Gospel in an intimate 100 seater venue( So get your tickets quick) those of you who know of Chris Farlowe will remember 'Out of Time' & 'Handbags and Gladrags'Chris Farlowe moved to Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label and recorded eleven singles, five of which were cover versions of Rolling Stones songs including Paint It, Black, Think, Ride On, Baby, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, and Out of Time, which reached no. 1 (1966) in the UK Singles Chart.[1] He recorded four more singles, the best known of which is Mike d'Abo's Handbags and Gladrags.[2] and My Way Of Giving, a cover of a Small Faces album track written by Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane.Apart from pursuing his own solo career, Miller Anderson was a member of the Keef Hartley Band. Other groups Anderson has been associated with are; the Spencer Davis Group, Broken Glass, The Dukes, Mountain, Savoy Brown, T.Rex and Chicken Shack.[1] In early 2006, he joined The British Blues Quintet with Maggie Bell, Zoot Money, Colin Hodgkinson and Colin Allen. In the Spring of 2016 Miller returned to the studio and in July 2016 released a new album of 12 original tracks Through The Mill Along with The Desperate Dan Band Bob Brookes has worked with and supported some of the most credible names in the business, either collectively or individually people like Paul McCartney, Jools Holland, Elton John, Leo Sayer to name but a few having had in the line-up at one time or another such people as Dave Mattacks (Fairport, Mary Chapin-Carpenter). The trio take to the stage at 8.30pm with the help of Frazer Wigg / Keyboards, Jim Barr /Bass & Marianne Hiller-Brook / Drums

Enjoyed our evening vrey much with Chris Farlowe, band too. Voice still strong. Would have loved him to have sung 'out of time' A classic, for old times sake at the end. I'm sure all would have loved to have heard it. A pleasure.

Chris Farlowe Biography

Chris Farlowe was born John Deighton in North London, 1940.

In 1966 he signed with Andrew Loog Oldham, releasing an Immediate label EP featuring the tracks - In the Midnight Hour, Mr Pitiful, Satisfaction and Who Can I Turn To. Followed by the his first Album, 14 Things to Think About.

The summer of 1966 saw the release of his biggest hit - Out of Time.

In the later part of the sixties he did the classic - Handbags and Gladrags, written by his friend Mike d' Abo of Manfred Man and recently covered by the Stereophonics. This was to be his last chart success.

In the 70's Chris sang with the band Colosseum before he moved on to the group Atomic Rooster.

He was involved in a serious road accident which stopped him recording and performing for a couple of years.

He worked with various bands/musicians througout the 80's and 90's and
he still performs live today.
