Hailed as "one of the nation's best live bands" by NPR, St. Paul and the Broken Bones is a six-piece soul band based in Alabama whose passionate vocals and energetic instrumentation have earned them accolades from "Rolling Stone" and other national publications. The group will be joined on stage at Weill Hall at Sonoma State University's Green Music Center by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave. Trombone Shorty, led by singer and horn blower Troy Andrews, is a New Orleans-based funk band with jazz, hip-hop and rock influences and an impressive resume: they've backed Madonna and Macklemore at the Grammys, opened shows for Hall & Oates and The Red Hot Chili Peppers and played on records by Mark Ronson.
