About this concert
Maestro Piotr Gajewski and the National Philharmonic's '17-'18 season gets off to a star-studded start at Strathmore with multi-award-winning violinist Sarah Chang and Santiago Rodriguez, who's been called a "phenomenal pianist" by "The New York Times". A true child prodigy, Chang made her musical debut with the New York Philharmonic at the age of 8 and has since gone on to record 20 albums and appear at most of the world's great concert halls. In fact, she's the youngest person ever inducted into the Hollywood Bowl's Hall of Fame. She's set to perform one of her signature pieces, Bruch's romantic Violin Concerto No. 1. Beethoven's "Egmont" Overture and Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor are also on the bill for this Sunday afternoon concert.
