When you're trying to plan an exciting night out, seeing a pair of classical pianists in concert is probably pretty far from the top of your list. Pianists Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Joy Roe know that, which is why their concerts routinely leave critics breathless: "These classical rock stars are charismatic, fun, sexy and wildly talented," raves the "Rochester City Newspaper", while "Arts Saginaw"'s concert review noted that "The audience cheered like it was a football game." By infusing their performances with fiery rock 'n' roll showmanship, Anderson & Roe aim to make classical music relevant again by making it a total blast. Just look at the setlist for this concert at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco: Sure, there's some Ravel and Stravinsky, but they'll also be playing their own arrangements of Radiohead and Michael Jackson -- and we haven't even mentioned the screening of Mel Brooks' hysterical Halloween comedy "Young Frankenstein" yet. Prepare yourself for an "abby-normal" amount of thrills when this pair of classical pianists take the stage.
