Catherine Alcorn lets it all out after her nomination for Best Cabaret Show at the 2016 Sydney Theatre Awards. Hailed as “magnificent” and “masterful” with “a voice to die for”, Catherine's intimate new show sizzles with craftily concocted interpretations of songs by our decade’s demigods that boldly blur the lines of rock and rap, blues and bluegrass, Blondie to Beyonce. Catherine Alcorn Biography
Catherine Alcorn is a multi award-winning artist, live entertainment producer and Artistic Director who works extensively in theatre and television. Catherine is one of Australia's most in-demand entertainers and presenters renowned for her powerhouse vocals and razor sharp wit.
In 2018 Catherine made her triumphant USA and Sydney Opera House debut in her most famous role as The Divine Miss Bette, her flagship show channelling Bette Midler, winning her the Best Cabaret Production in the 2018 Broadway World Awards.
She headlines the countries biggest Theatre and Cabaret Festivals including Sydney Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Hobart's Festival of Voices.
Internationally, Catherine has toured her shows to LA, NYC, Palm Springs, Arizona, Houston TX and Hong Kong.
As a producer her TV credits include OPRAH's Ultimate Australian Adventure (HARPO), TODAY (TCN9) and Making Australia Happy (CJZ).
Most recently, in response to COVID-19, Catherine and a team of Sydney producers, launched The Reservoir Room, a virtual venue from Paddington Town Hall for a five week season, live streaming a brand new variety show Friday Night Live (directed by Ted Robinson and co-hosted with Rodger Corser) and Saturday evening cabaret and live music hours. This project kept over 45 of Sydney’s live entertainment industry workers employed.
Catherine is a proud Ambassador of Kawai and Epilepsy Action Australia.
