British conductor and early-music expert Nicholas McGegan leads the Nashville Symphony and Chorus through Haydn's brilliant oratorio, based on the biblical book of "Genesis". The opening of this dramatic piece captures the emergence of life and light from chaos and darkness, while another depicts the creation of the animals, with different musical motifs representing a lion, a tiger, insects and more. Soprano Ashley Valentine, tenor Isaiah Bell and bass Anthony Reed lend their beautiful voices to these performances at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
