About this concert
Brit rockers New Order are taking over the Hollywood Bowl this September, and they're bringing special guest Goldfrapp with them. With their forward-thinking post-punk sound heavily influenced by electronic and dance music, New Order became one of the most critically acclaimed and influential bands of the 1980s. Their '83 hit "Blue Monday" was a staple of the club scene, and their aversion to media attention left fans craving more. The secrecy theme was even woven into their recordings' minimalist packaging art, which captured almost as much attention as their music. After separating in the early '90s to pursue individual projects, the group re-formed (with a few lineup changes) in 1998 and have been going strong ever since. They released their 10th studio album, "Music Complete", in 2015. Be sure to be at the Bowl to hear their rock-dance set live in concert, including signature tracks like "True Faith" and "Temptation."

Goldfrapp Biography

This English electronic duo formed in 1999 consists of singer-songwriter and musician Alison Goldfrapp, and musician/producer Will Gregory. Prior to the band, Alison guested as a vocalist and songwriter with the likes of Tricky, Orbital and Peter Gabriel, among others.

Goldfrapp's 2000 debut album Felt Mountain featured minimalist electronic compositions that consisted of downtempo structures, classical sounding arrangements of strings and light, airy synths alongside Alison's sleek, soft vocals. The albums that followed, Black Cherry & Supernature, have seen Goldfrapp embracing elements of glam rock, dance and disco music, taking their sound to a wider audience.
Usually associated with the electroclash movement, Goldfrapp sometimes recalls 1980s new wave.

"Strict Machine" is also the song used by Verizon for its "Chocolate" phone commercials and was used for one "Gameboy Advance" commercial by Nintendo. The song is also featured in many promo spots for the FX television series Nip/Tuck. "Fly Me Away" was featured in various Target department store Christmas commercials in 2006. "Ooh La La" has also been used in T-Mobile adverts in the United Kingdom. "Lovely Head" featured regularly in episodes of British satirical animation series Monkey Dust. "Train" was featured in the fourth season of Showtime's "Queer as Folk", and was also included in the soundtrack. "Crystalline Green" can be heard in the episode 7 from the second season of House M.D. "Ride a White Horse" is played in the first episode of season six of "The Sopranos". "Beautiful" was used in TV commercials for the Sex and the City movie. "A&E" and "Happiness" have both been used in popular british soap opera Hollyoaks.

Goldfrapp is also mentioned in the film Hard Candy and appeared as a musical guest in an episode of the television show The L Word.
