About this concert
No, French conductor and harpsichordist Emmanuelle Haim is not directly related to Haim, the pop-rock trio of similarly-named sisters. But she is a superstar in the world of early baroque. She and her acclaimed ensemble of musicians and vocalists, Le Concert d'Astrée, have won two Grammy nominations for their work. Now she'll lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in an all-18th-century concert, featuring Purcell's Shakespeare-inspired "Fairy Queen" suite, Bach's Suite No. 3 in D and Pergolesi's dramatic "Stabat Mater". Soprano Laura Claycomb and countertenor Christophe Damaux lend their stellar voices to the show at DTLA's Walt Disney Concert Hall.
