The Paperboys from Vancouver bring back their adventurous vision of Canadian roots music back to the UK, spreading good cheer and great music.
The Paperboys formed in 1995 when singer Tom Landa moved to Vancouver. They soon became a key part of the ever increasing wave of Canadian folk-rock bands. The Paperboys, however, were a but different with Celtic fiddle, penny whistle, flute and trombone blazing through their songs, They included Spanish songs that reflected Tom's Mexican heritage and rock songs with pop influences, Their's is a melting pot of sounds that include healthy servings of Ska, Soca, Country and strains of folk, soul and funk.
Live The Paperboys are dynamic, they are the best multi lingual, multi generational and genre bending band that you will ever hear.
Support comes from fellow Canadian Sarah Jane Scouten, Sara Jane is a gifted song writer and scholar of roots music tradition. Her songs are faithful to folk music tradition, but spill over into modern themes that are outspoken and edgy.
