About Promethean Horde

Hailing from legendary metal mecca of Tampa, Fla., Promethean Horde was originally formed as a studio project in 1999 by vocalist Nickulus (drummer for Paths of Possession and Dark Faith) and his brother, keyboardist Mike (Lull Me to Larvae). Over the next several years, the project began to gel and pick up speed as fellow veteran Tampa metal scenesters became involved and the band’s sound and lineup began to solidify. Bassist Jesse (Diabolic, Lull Me to Larvae, Amon, Crimson Massacre) joined the band in 2004, and in 2005, a two-song demo, DARK BLACK CATACOMB, was released by Death N Decay Records. Alex (Fall to Prey) came aboard as drummer in 2006, and guitarist Jack (Djynn, Paths of Possession, Cancer Slug) was recruited in 2007, during a Paths of Possession/ Dark Faith tour. Guitarist Jones (Fall to Prey) joined in 2008, completing the lineup. Promethean Horde headlined their official live debut in the summer of 2008, and were enthusastically received by the Tampa metal community. 2009 saw the five-song EP BRING FORTH THE FIRES released on iTunes. In late 2010, Chris stepped in to replace Alex as drummer. Since then, Promethean Horde have continued to hone their sound, layering death and folk metal influences over symphonic black metal. A formidable live act, the band has opened for several national acts, including Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Municipal Waste, Marduk, Nachtmystium, Korpiklaani, Rotting Christ, Tyr, Moonspell, Abigail Williams, and Order of Ennead, among others, and continue to attract a growing local fan base. At this time, Promethean Horde is slated to open several more national shows, and are currently working on their first full-length album. Feedback: “Watch for these guys; I have a feeling you will be hearing about them within the next year or two.” -- metalpsalter.com “ … blackened, angry and furious. There isn't a drop of monotony, and the groove is relentless. Each song reaches its peaks and valleys with a solid sense of song structure (devoid of alliteration) … this is a band to keep an eye on. 7/10.” -- grindingtheapparatus.com “ ... they blew me fucking away. I would love to see them again, and EVERYONE needs to check this band out. Extremely talented.” -- metalsetlists.com Black Metal from Tampa,FL
