Music should be three dimensional, free from formulas and restrictions. It should be a complete experience, a sensory overload that touches the soul. At least this is the belief of two-time Juno Award winning artist [SEBELL], who is the alt-pop British Columbia native behind the Canadian Top 20 summer anthem Till The Sun Burns Out.

The singer-songwriter uses a visually driven approach to songwriting, something that spills over to his performances and online persona. Whether it be neon signs in the middle of the night, fog creeping into an alleyway at dusk, or a winding road to nowhere, [SEBELL] meticulously creates a collection of images to reference during the creative process, ensuring the songs sound exactly how he wants them to look in the mind’s eye. With a soundtrack rich in texture, depth and mystery, he doesn’t just tell you about the journey, he takes you along.

[SEBELL]’s synth-driven keyboard melodies are often accompanied by a thumping, hip hop-inspired beat that punches deep into the listener’s chest, while also channeling alternative musicians who have already crossed into mainstream success such as The Weeknd, Imagine Dragons or Lana Del Rey. [SEBELL]’s songs might create the illusion of upbeat pop on the surface, but they have an underlying ominous complexion beneath.

It didn’t take long for [SEBELL] to realize music fans connected with his unique approach to writing. Till The Sun Burns Out broke the Top 40 at national hit radio in less than two weeks, peaking at #6 on the Canadian Artist Billboard chart and #15 on the Mediabase Top 40 chart. Impressing fans and industry veterans alike, all of [SEBELL]’s success came without the backing of a record label or management company. He was just a new artist with a song, which was quietly uploaded on the Internet without any context. The combination of mystery and infectious 1980s influences definitely struck a chord.

While the name [SEBELL] is fresh, the artist behind it is no stranger to music. He has previously released multiple albums under his given name, won the coveted John Lennon Songwriting contest twice, took top honour at the Billboard World Song Contest and nabbed a Western Canadian Music award. As [SEBELL], his other popular track See Through the Heart was featured in its entirety on CTV's Saving Hope, and the song’s music video premiered on VEVO’s front page while also receiving heavy rotation on MUCH.

Jumping between Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto and Vancouver, [SEBELL] is preparing for what’s next. After joining forces with Universal Music Canada he has enlisted the help of a strong cast of rising producers for his debut EP including STINT (Gallant, Banks), Jeremy Lutito (Leagues), David Badiuk (Tegan & Sara, Dragonette), Sevn Thomas (Rihanna's "Work") and Super Duper (R.LUM.R's "Frustrated"). The debut project is available now wherever music is sold, dowloaded or streamed.

[SEBELL] is currently in the studio working on his follow up album due in 2017.
