Return to Rainbow Bridge by KAS SERENITY Electronic, Techno, Ambient, and Alternative R&B Music KAS started a solo project playing jazz, electronic, techno, Alternative R&B, and acid-jazz and released a CD album, titled, “Return to Rainbow Bridge” on Ichiban Records/POPP INC. The KAS SERENITY band was a synthesis of twenty years of musical sound combining contemporary jazz, Ambient, R & B and Electronic Groove. KAS SERENITY band featured national musical recording and performers: vocalists Kim Berry, Miyon and Crystal Glass, along with; saxophonist, Yataka Handa, from Japan; Detroit saxophonist, Faruq Z. Bey; New York guitarist, Kelvyn Bell, known for his guitar work with Kelvynator, DeFunkt, and as band leader with the Black Rock Coalition Orchestra, and Techno/Drum and Bass producer, Geter Most (Funk Lab, Detroit). KAS SERENITY, the band blends R & B soul beats into what is today called Rhythm & Ambient or Acid Jazz. The group has opened shows for hip-hop artist, Missy Elliott; the R&B girl group, Total; Morris Day and The Time; Little Milton; Dionne Warwick, The Delfonics, Gory Glover, Rachid, Foday Musa Sosu, and others. They have performed throughout the USA, including, numerous clubs and venues, including such festivals as the African World Festival (Milwaukee, WI), African World Festival (Detroit, MI), African Festival (Lexington, KY), and African-American Festival of the Arts (Chicago, IL); and the African Street Festival (Nashville, TN). KAS SERENITY has one of the most dynamic sounds heard today. It is a show not to be missed. Live the band blends R & B soul beats into what is today called Rhythm & Ambient or Acid Jazz, techno, electro, and the alternative R&B Music idiom. Some of he highlights of the, Compact Discs/Album, titled, Return to Rainbow Bridge (POPP INC) which was originally released on the POPP INC/Ichiban Record label and is now available on the internet as music downloads features a stunning remake of The Dramatics song, "In the Rain” (written by Tony Hester), and the hit instrumental tune, "7 Mile Road", along with the instrumental tune, “Back & Forth” (written by R. Kelly), which was originally performed and recorded by the American singer, actress and model, Aaliyah in 1994 on her debut studio album. Three song titles from Return to Rainbow Bridge (POPP INC) have been featured on television and radio as theme songs and played on numerous radio stations including, WDET (Detroit), 105.9 (Detroit), VJAZZ 98.7 (Detroit), WGPR 107.5 (Detroit). Four tracks from the CD/Album, Return to Rainbow Bridge (POPP INC) were featured on the sound track for the film, MOVING TARGET (Distributed by Maverick) and are available nationally. The slow jam, "In the Rain" features, vocalist Kim Berry, and musician, Yutaka Handa (Tokyo, Japan) on saxophone. Soul Rhythm has developed a huge underground following reflecting a cross segment of fans and music loyalists by doing a Techno-Jazz Music Series at Club Xhedos and Hunter House. The band did a smashing performance at Detroit’s “Taste Fest” and at the Cutting Room in New York City opening for Greg Tate’s band Burnt Sugar.
