About Daydream Machine

Picture in My Ear to Release Daydream Machine's "The Show Must Not Go On"
Listen to the first single at Bigtakeover.com here:

Daydream Machine is a darkly psychedelic space-rock quartet that formed in 2012 in Portland, Oregon. They quickly found a home at Picture in My Ear Records, releasing their debut album “Twin Idols” in 2014. Influenced by a variety of bands such as Galaxy 500, Spacemen 3, The Cure, The Jesus and Marychain, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Verve and Neu!, Daydream Machine hops back and forth through decades and genres to stitch together something that sounds simultaneously brand new and a lifetime old. At times, their music coalesces into something as oddly hypnotic as the dream machine that inspired the band’s name. Britpop News describes the band as “authentic, inventive and an organised cacophony of musical, literary and cultural influence...never taking themselves too seriously.” Fronted by Jsun Adams, Daydream Machine also features Jonathan Allen on guitars, Josh Kalberg on bass and B. Graham Mild on drums.

Daydream Machine’s second LP, “The Show Must Not Go On” releases March 7, 2017 on Picture in My Ear Records. The album was tracked at Gregg Williams’ studio The Trench (Blitzen Trapper, Dandy Warhols’ 13 Tales From Urban Bohemia). After tracking the songs, Jsun wrote the lyrics while on a trip through the heart of Jamaica. Inside the context of current world events, “The Show Must Not Go On” unveils prickly commentary within its wry vocals, happy-sad grooves and baritone sax solos. Guest appearances include: Dandy Warhols’ Peter Holmstrom, Federale’s Colin Sheridan, The Upsidedown’s Matt Moore, and M. Ward / Rick Bain keyboardist Nathan Junior. The album was mixed by Jonathan Allen.

Daydream Machine has played such festivals as Austin Psych Fest (Levitiation) and Desert Stars Festival and has recently shared the bill with the bands Jagwar Ma, Kula Shaker, Dead Meadow, The Allah Las, The Black Ryder, Elephant Stone, Rain Parade, Asteroid #4, Hinds, David Kilgour & The Heavy Eights, Besnard Lakes, and Cellar Doors.
