Devastation

The story of Devastatiön started more then a decade ago, around 2004, under the name ‘Black Fuel’. As young teenagers playing heavy metal (Metallica, Motörhead, …), it never seemed too hard or fast enough. With a small reformation in the band, the road to play fast, aggressive and furious thrash metal was open. We played music straight from the heart and balls, honest without compromise. ‘Devastatiön’ was born and with teutonic thrash in mind we started from scratch. In 2007 we deceided it was time to record 3 songs as a demo. After playing several shows in the local thrash scene, more people started to appreciate us. In 2011 we went into the studio again to record our first full album ‘Leather Jack Maniac’, in collaboration with a local label, called ‘Battle Cat Productions’. We were very pleased with the result and received very good feedback and reviews. We were able to play some nice shows with ‘Vicious rumors’, ‘Hobbs Angel of Death’, 'Pro Pain', ‘Killer’,… This gave us the boost we needed at the time, but we knew we could still do better. We started to write new songs with more influences from other genres. The core was still thrash, but we added more black-, deathmetal and rock ’n roll vibes. This we all mixed into a blend that defined our sound. The thrash revival came to an end and as more and more bands explored new genres and gave in tot the hipster community, we stood our ground and remained the same band, evolving through the years, but never changing our principles. With that mentality we went into the studio to record our second full length album ‘Pussy Juice Blues’. We were even more satisfied with the result and again received very good feedback. Many things had changed within the Belgian thrash scene, so it was harder to get proper shows and thrash metal seemed to fade in Belgium. Not caring too much about music evolution we stayed on course, wrote some new songs and searched for a more suitable label for a new record. We got in touch with ‘Empire Records’ and signed for a brand new Ep called ‘Drink with the Devil’.
