DJ Edge

There are some people who are able to excel at what they do mainly because it just comes “natural.” DJ Edge is one of those people. As a DJ, he’s been a key player for many years in the central Pennsylvania area in both the club circuit as well as private events. His deep- rooted passion for music, which began at a very early age, has been the key to his success.

A native of Philadelphia, Edge was exposed to a wide range of music while growing up. He made himself right at home with his family’s record collection, which included everything from Folk and Blues to Jazz and Pop. Being an “80’s baby”, Edge was exposed to an era of music that either touched the soul or made people hit the dance floor. This combination molded a deep appreciation for music and it quickly became part of who he was. Years later, with the emergence of Hip Hop – the “DJ” became a forefront element of the culture, and it wasn’t long before he knew that DJing was something that he had to do.

Edge began to acquire the basic knowledge of DJing while in high school, but his DJ career truly surfaced while attending college at West Chester University. He began spinning at fraternity and sorority house parties around campus, and after a short period of time, became the sought after DJ for many of the college’s functions. He maintained a steady schedule throughout college and his musical diversity allowed him to handle any type of event - including formal events and weddings. He graduated from West Chester University in 1999 and returned to his current hometown of Lancaster, Pa.

For the past several years, Edge has held numerous residencies at nightclubs and lounges in the Central Pa area, and has made several guest DJ appearances in Philadelphia, N.J. and other areas of the Tri-State region. With his smooth mixes and quick cuts on the turntables, Edge has a style all of his own and has quickly become one of the areas top rated DJ’s. Diversity is what has allowed him to stand out from the ordinary. He sees each DJ set as a way to establish a mood and control the vibe that engages his audience. Music selection and timing have become the foundation for his unique DJ style in which he incorporates all genres of music into his sets. With his mixing abilities, Edge has also managed to acquire live radio experience. He held the primary DJ spot for CLUB 969 on FM 97 WLAN (Lancaster). The live Saturday night mix-show aired for six months in the local listening area, and at the time, was the first show of its kind to reach the airwaves. His radio experience also includes Power 99FM in Philadelphia (WUSL Clear Channel Station).

DJ Edge has continued to let his passion for music take him to new places, inspiring the people that come out to listen to him. Whether he’s spinning for an intimate group of 50 - or an audience of hundreds, he always knows how to keep the dance floor full.
