This band is hard at work and giving some of the staples of the genre a run for their money." - Nick Teal, Teal Cheese Formed in 2014, With Sails Ahead are a five-piece Alternative/Post-Hardcore band from Toms River, New Jersey. With Sails Ahead's first EP Open Letters was written, recorded and released by vocalist Sierra Binondo in August 2014, the band's only member at that time. In 2015 the band completed its line-up and quickly gained momentum playing several shows. With Sails Ahead's sound matches that of what makes a band "post-hardcore," with a sound that is as dynamic and bold as any post-hardcore band- simply minus the harsh, aggressive yelling that is characteristic of heavier music. The band entered the studio for the first time as a five-piece in February 2016 to record their second EP "Years in Waiting" with Adam Cichocki from Timber Studios, released in June 2016.
