About Grand Splendid
Grand Splendid is an indie rock band from Montreal with upfront electric guitar sounds and soothing vocal melodies.
Their first Ep Numbers was very well received by indie music media. The buzz following its release ultimately landed them invitations to play at NXNE, Canadian Music Week and Indie Week festivals in Toronto. UK rockers The Joy Formidable also took notice, choosing Grand Splendid as the featured artist on one of their podcasts.
Over the years the band have performed in many venues across Quebec and Ontario, getting to share the stage with amazing artists like The Glorious Sons, We Are Monroe, The Happy FIts, James Blonde, Paupière, Les Louanges and many more.
Their debut album, mastered by Ryan Morey (Arcade Fire, Half Moon Run, Sam Roberts), is upcoming in November 2023. Its first single "You Are The Universe" leads the charge ahead of the release. The song quickly garnered praise from Montreal radio station CHOM, which featured it as their Big Shiny New Song of the Week. Subsequently radios from around the world have also added it to their rotations. The song eventually reached the number one position on the Canadian Online Radio Charts. They also released the singles "Magic" and “Heartstrings”, anticipating their new album, which also got attention from radios worldwide.
