Jason Serious

Jason Serious is an American singer-songwriter based in Munich, Germany. Since hitting the European circuit in 2011 he and his band have toured with an impressive list of international artists including Billy Bragg, Other Lives, Paul Heaton, Nathaniel Rateliff, Timber Timbre and the Levellers. Their debut album Undercover Folk (2012) was enthusiastically received by a number of leading alt-country blogs (see reviews) and enjoyed regular radio play by country and folk DJs across Europe, with the tracks ‘Horse’ and ‘Met Jack Kerouac’ leading the way. In summer 2014, after a busy few months of touring and festival performances at Canadian Music Week in Toronto and Blue Balls in Switzerland, the band signed acclaimed producer Grant Showbiz (The Smiths, Billy Bragg, Wilco and Frank Turner) to work with them on their sophomore album. The group travelled to London in August to record the album, which is scheduled for release in February 2016. The core of the Jason Serious Band is the trio of Jason Serious (vocals, guitar), Johannes Jooß (drums) and Alto Kraus (bass), who have been playing together since 2011. They are often joined on stage by other musicians for bigger shows.
