COLIN MOORE

Colin Moore is a Canadian singer / songwriter hailing from Montreal.
With his smoky, whiskey soaked voice and his ability to tell his stories through lyrics and melodies, Colin weaves a rich and inspiring musical tapestry on which it isn’t hard to hear the influence of greats like Springsteen, Petty and Dylan.

Colin has quickly caught attention from both fans and industry alike. Following his debut showcase at CMW in March 2008, Moore has gone on to play a variety of festivals, including the Quebec city summer Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, SXSW, NXNE and opening sold-out shows for Joseph Arthur. He also received rave reviews following his tour opening for David Usher in fall 2009. Colin has since started touring relentlessly both nationally and internationally with over 250 dates in 2009-2010, including 20 dates in the U.S. and more than 50 in Europe.

Following his first European tour in Sweden, England, France and Germany (where he opened for Holly Williams), Colin returned to release his first album, "Leaving Home" on March 30th, 2010. Produced by his friend and guitarist Ryan Battistuzzi (Breastfeeders, Malajube, We Are Wolves) signed on Indica Records and distributed by Fontana / Universal in Canada, the album is receiving critical acclaim. In anticipation to its European summer launch, Colin returned to Europe in May 2010 for a tour of 10 dates in Belgium, France and Germany with Swiss artist Sophie Hunger.

Summer 2010 was just as busy for Colin Moore. He participated in the ROSEQ tour across eastern Quebec with Jason Bajada, opened for Rodger Hodgson (Supertramp) at the Quebec city Summer Festival, played the Montreal Jazz Festival and took a third trip to Europe to open for Grammy-award winner Roseanne Cash. He then embarked on a month-long tour of Australia in October and came back home to headline in front of a full house at Montreal’s Astral (home of the Montreal Jazz Festival).

In April 2011, Colin Moore was nominated for the prestigious “Grand Prix de la Relève Musicale Archambault” along with eight other emerging artists having distinguished themselves amongst all. The contest, ending in September 2011, will reward it’s winner with one of the most important Quebec industry awards in addition to receiving a $10 000 cash prize.

Spring 2011 was highlighted by his fourth trip across the Atlantic Ocean to support his Danish release and summer will be just as exciting with headlines all around Quebec and a very special invitation to open for country’s superstar Alan Jackson,
and was down-under from October to December 2011 to support the release of his album in Australia. touring across the country supporting Jeff Martin before coming back home to record his sophomore record, (Heart of the storm) which should be available sometime in September.
