Phillip Morris

Chicago born and raised. Recently taking up residence in Minneapolis. Phillip Morris has developed a reputation as an articulate, fun, and engaging performer. One that entertains a diverse range of crowds with complex rhymes and electrifying stage performances. One that wears pajama pants onstage and encourages female fans to thrust their fingers into his exposed bellybutton. He has weaved his voice and energy into peformances alongside Punk, Rock, Ska, Jarocho, and Reggae bands, multiple songs with the Tomorrow Music Orchestra. He's even hopped onstage to freestyle with Wookiefoot on quite a few occasions. Focusing upon human connection even more than music, Phillip Morris also strives to inspire and educate the younger generations by performing in elementary schools, high schools, and colleges across the Chicago area. He has conducted hip-hop workshops in various colleges, high schools, and public libraries across the Chicagoland area. He was chosen as the American representative for the America Libre hip hop festival in the Dominican Republic, and flew down to perform 2 years in a row. Above just writing music for the listeners, Phillip tries to enhance the musical experience by also creating a wide array of music videos to accompany the songs he creates. With an already impressive portfolio of music videos under his belt, he continues to brainstorm and formulate bolder concepts and more original means of artistic expression. After making a name for himself in his hometown of Chicago, he began frequently traveling to Minneapolis after meeting an emcee by the name of Sean Anonymous. The two became close friends, and started trading shows in Chicago and Minneapolis, each one enabling the other to increase their fanbase in their respective cities. After a few years, Morris decided that moving to Minneapolis would be the next logical step for his progression. He now resides in Southside Minneapolis, and is roommates with Sean Anonymous and Lizzo. With 4 solo albums already under his belt, his most recent release is a collaboration with the Minneapolis group Wide Eyes (Sean Anonymous, Tony Phantom, DJ Name, Dimitry Killstorm) called "The Sick and The Dead" that dropped 11/5/13. This is the first project that Morris has released since moving to Minneapolis, and he feels that it is some of the strongest material he has written in years. He is currently working on an untitled solo project which he hopes to release by this summer. In the meanwhile he hosts a free Auto-Tune Karaoke night at the Nomad World Pub in Minneapolis every Monday, and is steadily organizing shows, rocking stages, and collaborating with artists across this city and nationwide.
