Emily Herring

Emily plays true Country music with a bit of Western swing, gypsy jazz and traditional honky tonk influences. Her soaring vocals and distinctive twang are unmistakeable. She pulls no punches, and her hard-hitting-no-frills crooning earned her a 2015 Ameripolitan Award Nomination for her record "Your Mistake." The album also won her the Carl T. Sprague Award from the Texas Music Awards, an honor she shares with only one other recipient, Michael Martin Murphey.

Her 2017 album, "Gliding" won international acclaim with performances at the Kansas City Folk Festival, ACL's Moody Theater, and Uncle Calvin's.

Her songs are poetry, wrought with pedal steel, dobro, telecaster, a careful reverence, and an honest eye. Stretching across Texas and the new West, the songs recall the last fifty years of country music in a sound all their own.
