VOV

VOV nasce nella seconda metà degli anni zero. VOV sono Marta Mattalia e Davide Arneodo. 007 Registrano un primo EP dal titolo omonimo. Nello stesso anno iniziano i live che li portano a suonare in molti club del nord Italia e ad aprire alcuni concerti durante l'Uno live in love tour dei Marlene Kuntz. Partecipano al Premio Janis Joplin al Priamar di Savona, vincendo il primo premio con il riconoscimento per la migliore nuova voce femminile. 008 Terminano le registrazioni di un secondo ep con quattro nuovi brani: EP_2. Sono invitati a suonare il nuovo lavoro al CPM di Milano, realizzando così 5 video del live. Con due canzoni, "Il lenzuolo di piombo" e "Lo squarcio", partecipano al concorso internazionale Music Think Tank giungendo tra i 40 vincitori su oltre 600 gruppi provenienti da tutto il mondo. 009 Continua l'attività live e a settembre approdano sul palco dell'Auditorium Parco della Musica di Roma assieme a molti altri artisti tra cui Claudio Simonetti (Goblin), Andy (Bluvertigo), Beatrice Antolini, Vincenzo Vasi (Vinicio Capossela). 010 E' l'anno di VOV, terzo ep con Luca Bergia (Marlene Kuntz) alla batteria e 5 nuovi brani: "Marta è morta su Marte", "Pieni di niente", "Mattino notturno", "Essere umano" e "Il piccolo fratello". Nel settembre dello stesso anno sono a Londra per produrre nuove composizioni con Dario Dendi alla console e Steve Forrest (Placebo) alla batteria. Con due brani di questo lavoro sono selezionati personalmente da Jon Bon Jovi tramite il concorso Edison Change The Music, per aprire il suo concerto allo stadio di Udine, ma per impegni precedentemente presi VOV si trova costretto a rinunciare. 011 Proseguono i live con aperture a Subsonica, Niccolò Fabi e Beautiful (Marlene Kuntz + Gianni Maroccolo + Howie B). In autunno, i VOV vengono invitati dall'Heineken Italia a suonare 4 brani unplugged nella sede di Milano. 012 In aprile vede la luce AMARSI A GOMORRA, registrato a Londra con la produzione di Dario Dendi e Steve Forrest dei Placebo alla batteria. Il progetto viene distribuito, esclusivamente in digitale, in tutto il mondo da Warner Music Italy. “Amarsi a Gomorra” diventa anche un corto di animazione diretto da Michele Bernardi. In novembre una delle tre tracce che lo compongono, "Biancaneve", si trasforma in un intero album di remix BIANCANEVE RMXS, che esce in streaming su La Repubblica XL, grazie alla collaborazione di artisti come Ettore Bianconi dei Baustelle, Angelo Bruschini chitarrista dei Massive Attack, Luca d'Alberto, Giulio Ragno Favero del Teatro degli Orrori, Davide Ferrario chitarrista di Franco Battiato, Hallucinator, Xabier Iriondo degli Afterhours, Madaski degli Africa Unite, Maztek, Numa Crew e Jörg Wähner batterista di Apparat. *** *** VOV was born in the second half of the noughties. VOV are Marta Mattalia and Davide Arneodo. 007 They record their first self-titled EP. In the same year they begin playing live shows that will take them around many clubs in Northern Italy and to also tour as opening act for Marlene Kuntz on their “One: live in love tour”. They also participate to the “Janis Joplin Award” at Priamar of Savona, winning first prize for the best new female vocalist award. 008 They finish the recordings of a second ep with four new songs: EP_2. They’re invited to play the newly produced work to CPM in Milan, where they shoot 5 live videos. With two songs, “Il lenzuolo di piombo” and “Lo squarcio”, they participate to the international competition “Music Think Tank” qualifying as one of the main winners from over 600 bands from all over the world. 009 They keep playing live shows and in september they play at the Parco Della Musica Auditorium in Rome along with many other artists including Claudio Simonetti (Goblin), Andy (Bluvertigo), Beatrice Antolini, Vincenzo Vasi (Vinicio Capossela). 010 VOV is produced, the band’s third ep with Luca Bergia (Marlene Kuntz) on drums and 5 new songs: “Marta è morta su Marte”, “Pieni di niente”, “Mattino notturno”, “Essere umano” and “Il piccolo fratello”. In september they are in London to produce new tracks with Dario Dendi at the console and Steve Forrest (Placebo) on drums. With two songs from this production they are selected personally by Jon Bon Jovi for the “Edison Change The Music” competition, to open his concert at the Udine stadium, but due to previous commitments VOV are forced to pass. 011 Live shows continue, opening for acts such as Subsonica, Niccolò Fabi and Beautiful (Marlene Kuntz + Maroccolo + Howie B). In autumn VOV is invited by Heineken to play 4 unplugged songs in its Milan headquarters. 012 In april they release AMARSI A GOMORRA, recorded in London with the production of Dario Dendi and Steve Forrest of Placebo on drums. The project is worldwide exclusively distributed digitally by Warner Music Italy. “Amarsi a Gomorra” also becomes an animated short film directed by Michele Bernardi. In November one of the three tracks that compose the Ep, "Biancaneve", it turns into an entire album of remixes BIANCANEVE RMXS, thanks to the collaboration of artists like Ettore Bianconi (Baustelle), Angelo Bruschini (Massive Attack), Luca d'Alberto, Giulio Ragno Favero (Il Teatro degli Orrori), Davide Ferrario (Franco Battiato), Hallucinator, Xabier Iriondo (Afterhours), Madaski (Africa Unite), Maztek, Numa Crew and Jörg Wahner (Apparat).
