About Men And Whales

Men and Whales is an alternative rock band from Queens, NY, whose sound and energy descend from the likes of Superdrag, Weezer, and the Foo Fighters. Formed in 2008 out of the mutual friendships between Tom Murphy, Brent Lazo, and Clint Paul, Men and Whales hit the ground running, releasing their debut album Farewell to the Fire within their first year of inception. Shortly thereafter, the Long Story Short EP was released while the band was ramping up their live show performances throughout New York City. In 2010, around the release of their second album When the Days Blend, the band played several shows on the west coast culminating at LA’s famous Whisky a Go-Go. The following year the band performed at the CMJ Music Festival in New York City. In 2012, with producer Andy Baldwin, the band released their most polished record to date: The Years Are Gone. The video for their song, “Everything We Give”, received over 200k views on YouTube upon release. The band debuted “Dearest Arlene”, a stand-alone single, around St. Patrick's Day 2016. In the fall of the same year, the band unveiled their self-titled EP, Men and Whales. The album, co-produced by Men and Whales with Sam K. Shaw, captures the spirit and energy of the band’s live shows. Currently, the band is on tour supporting the Men and Whales EP.
