About Kunle Olusesi
Kunle Olusesi is one of the foremost African leading Saxophonist, composer, producer and teacher, with God-given musical talents. A self-taught wind instrumentalist needed no formal training to explode into his destiny at an early age.
His exuberant personality combined with his unique style of smooth jazz and compassionate spirit that crosses all socio-economic and demographic lines is undeniably infectious. He's a natural, whether on a concert stage performing with a symphony, or standing in front of a church congregation. His enthusiasm envelops the listener.
He studied computer science and graduated at the top of his class. However, his passion for music and love affair with the saxophone, as means of expressing his innermost freedom and meditation of sacred text, using the wind instruments made it difficult for him to enjoy a career in computer science. Nevertheless, his never looked back since he burst into the local Jazz community. A Mixing/Mastering Engineer at his Sax Planet Studio San Francisco California.
Kunle’s forte is on the Tenor, Alto and Soprano saxophones but also plays the flute, Clarinet, EWI, Shofar and piano.
He has two albums “New Beginning” reflects his spiritual connection to his creator. The album is filled with timeless old hymn medley, fused with his rich African heritage, vocal-like sound creating a contemporary jazz, appealing to the ears.
The second album is a mixed CD, a collection of favorite smooth jazz tune, reworked with strong African melody instrumentals. This ultimately birthed the new genre “Afro Smooth”. Introduced from his creative side to the world of smooth Jazz and beyond, with the understanding of music that gives our soul freedom, and no rules to it.
His married with Children, and cherishes every magnificent moment with his family and friends when his not traveling.
