Posthumous

Posthumous is a Progressive melodic death metal band from Gauteng, South Africa. The band started in 2009 when guitarists Estiaan Petzer and Callysta van Niekerk decided to expand their musical journey by forming a band. After struggling for a long while to find members who were committed, the band took a slight back seat in developing further, until finally bassist Andrew Wald joined the band in 2011.

However, their quest for a full band was not yet complete. The trio started the task of writing and practicing songs whilst searching far and wide for their two missing members. In 2012 they met Chris Harrison, who perfectly fit the bill for the role of vocalist and frontman.

Finally drummer Fabian o’ Flaherty emerged from the darkness in 2014, to save the band from oblivion after much frustration in seeking out their final member.

After a blistering year and a half of gigging in Johannesburg and Pretoria, the band parted ways with Chris Harrison.

Bassist Andrew Wald left the band in 2016 and Joseph Scheel joined as their new bassist.

The band is currently awaiting the completion of their debut EP, which is awaiting release in 2018.
