To her credit, Hailey is the recipient of the 2016 AWA Young Artist of the Year and 2015 WMA Crescendo Rising Star & Youth Harmony award winner (with Kristyn Harris and Leah Sawyer). As recipient of the SCMA Scholarship, Hailey attended The Leahy Band workshop with Natalie MacMaster. Hailey successfully competed in Irish Dance & Celtic Fiddle competitions while competing as a Championship Irish Step Dancer. Hailey's smooth tonality, exciting improvisation & natural stage presence make for an exciting performer. Her versatility and ability to improvise lends to guest performances and album recordings as well as custom ensembles. Hailey is influenced by notables Johnny Gimble, Liz Carroll, Eileen Ivers, Fergal Scahill, Natalie MacMaster, Chris Thile, Alison Krauss, Bobby Flores, Jim Van Cleve, Patrick McAvinue, & Jason Roberts. In addition to being a guest artist with multiple ensembles, Hailey is a member of Bobby Flores' Yellow Rose Band, Ain't Misbehavin' Swing Band and Óga. Debuting their first album (Óga), Hailey & Joseph Carmichael released Fingerprints with outstanding reviews from International Radio Show Live Ireland plus publications Western Way & Ceili. Hailey has been privileged to perform with notable artists Leon Rausch, Tommy Allsup, Byron Berline, Bobby Flores, Dave Alexander, Jody Nix, Billy Mata, Richard Helsley, Dick Gimble & Liz Carroll, including the honor of opening for Michael Martin Murphey and Billy Dean at The Heber Valley Cowboy Festival plus Crystal Gale at the Lincoln Symposium with The Dave Alexander Band. Hailey regularly performs at The Red Steagall Gathering and Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium. Growing up, Hailey's first interest was soccer. Initially trained by her father, then onto Select soccer using the rare talent of speed with foot skills honed by soccer guru Tony Billy (former member of the Dallas Sidekicks). By 2009, Hailey added Irish Step Dancing. Through Shandon-O'Regan School of Irish Dance, Hailey melded her athleticism to Championship Irish Step Dancing. She combined dancing & fiddling as a fun novelty known as “fiddle dancing”. In 2009, Hailey won 1st Place in fiddling and Irish Step dance competition (Emerald Bluebonnet Feis). Since 2008, Hailey has been playing in the church worship team. In 2010, Hailey became a privileged member of the Trinity Hall/Times Session Players, featuring top players of traditional Irish music in DFW and guest players throughout the region. Hailey’s gifts aren’t limited to music. Horsemanship started at 18 months and a passion to this day. Her aspiring passion and natural ability to work with horses has motivated her to study Equestrian Arts under Robert Till and is blessed to have opportunities to work with a variety of trainers and horses. Reining and Western horsemanship has been her latest focus. Hailey knows none of this would be possible without God. She knows the gifts of talent come from above and her heart belongs to God.
