It is almost impossible to not move your body when listening to Perez’s Latin inspired song “Secretkeeper”. The verses are punchy and exciting, while the lyrics are unmistakably haunting- “You’ll keep your secrets with you till your grave. Hide from the hurt, the shame, and all who’ve betrayed you.” But Perez also has a lighter side to her that is reminiscent of the quirky Juno soundtrack, as she sings about dancing and almost falling in closets, and her odd childhood habit of meowing in her debut EP titled track “Weirdos Like Us.” Priscilla Perez has an intrinsic ability to not only connect with listeners through her diarylike songwriting approach, but through her live energetic shows as well.
