Zombori

A Zombori egy fúziós-világzenét játszó formáció, amely a népzenétől ihletett dallamokat ötvözi a legkülönfélébb zenei stílusokkal. Egyaránt merít a jazz, a pop, rock, a folktronika vagy épp az indie világából, s közben megőrzi a népzene ösztönösségét. A zenekart egy székesfehérvári baráti társaság hívta életre, s a Pestre szakadt és ingázó székesfehérváriak körében közismert Zombori úti buszmegállóról kapta a nevét. 2013-ban az A38-as Talentométer világzenei döntőjén elért első helyezésnek és Napvilág Holdvilág című kislemezük megjelenésének köszönhetően lehetőségük nyílt több teltházas klubkoncertet is adni az Akkezdet Phiai, a Kerekes Band, a Csík Zenekar, a Bohemian Betyars, valamint Szabó Balázs Bandájának társaságában, és önállóan is. Szerepeltek a Petőfi Rádió Akusztik műsorában, s Túl a vízen című daluk is hallható az MR2-n. Ezen kívül megfordultak már a FEZEN, a Művészetek Völgye, az A38, a Sziget, a Fishing On Orfű, a Campus Fesztivál, és a Bánkitó színpadain is, valamint meghívást kaptak a Művészetek Palotájában megrendezett Népzene Ünnepére. 2015 az egyik vokalista búcsúját, s ennek hozományaként egy újfajta, kísérletező hangvételt hozott a zenekar életébe. Ennek a korszaknak az előfutára a közelmúltban napvilágot látott Egyedül vagyok című szám, melynek zenéjét és szövegét is a Zombori dobosa, Szabó Dániel Ferenc írta, a hozzá tartozó klipet pedig a Zombori énekesnője, Csordás Zita, valamint Nagy Bence rajzolta és animálta. A nyári fesztiválszezon után a zenekar 2015 őszére szóló tervei között szerepel az új LP befejezése és megismertetése a közönséggel, valamint a WOMEX magyar showcase napjára való maximális felkészülés. /// Inspiring fusion-world music which is based on a mixture of impulsive Hungarian folk motifs and different kind of styles such as jazz, pop, indie or even some electronic sound, leaded by a magnetic female voice. After winning a talent contest for young musicians (Talentométer 2013) and releasing their first EP, Napvilág, Holdvilág (“Daylight, moonlight”), they had the chance to perform with well-known Hungarian musicians, such as Szabó Balázs Bandája (who represented the country in 2015 on the Eurosonic Noorderslag). In 2014, the biggest public service radio, MR2 Petőfi recorded a full concert with the band and also their single, Túl a vízen (“Beyond The Water”) is on air regularly. Through the past few years, many of the most significant Hungarian music festivals featured the band, such as the worldwide famous Sziget. In January of 2015, Zombori was chosen as one of the eight performers of mayor Hungarian world music event Celebration of Folk Music. Initially the band was operating with two singers producing a unique sound of their music, but 2015 led to the farewell of one of the singers, marking the beginning of a new period in search of a more experimental sounding more engaged to the members’ personal visions. The newest single, Egyedül vagyok (“I feel alone”) which was released in the end of 2014 - is the forerunner of this new period. The song was written by the drummer Dániel Ferenc Szabó and a video was animated as well, by the singer Zita Csordás and Bence Nagy After the big run of summer festivals, the band has lots of things enlisted for Autumn of 2015 as well. They are planning to release their new LP and they are up to perform on the Hungarian showcase day of WOMEX in October that being, in turn, a big and exciting challenge for them.
