About Zoelah

Who are you? Who am I, well as a young girl I always loved music. I always committed myself to starting something and getting it done. I was told that I should always appear to being a strong and confident young woman. It does not matter whether I was capable of it as long as I believed it and showed the strength and confidence it would work in my favour. I am strong minded both in heart and theatrically especially when I love something. I believe that god never gives you more than you can handle, so when a challenge comes my way I embrace it. A challenge is a positive thing for me because it helps me to stay in my zone especially when it comes to my music. At what age did you start singing? I was merely a girl when I started to sing at the age of 7 in the church choir, but it was at 17 when I really started to sing on a professional level. It was then I decided and knew that singing was my life’s calling and my dream that I would full fill someday. Why do you sing? My reason for singing is because I have a great passion for music and through my music; it gives me the opportunity to be myself. It is that one second on the stage where the world just stops and nothing else matters to me and nothing else exist but me and the sweet sound of music. I feel I could defeat anything and be anyone at that moment in time. In which category you music you located? The music I sing I would consider it to be of various types. Music is a part of my mind, body and soul this is why I believe I can adapt to any type of music field I choose to enter into. The brand of music I current sing is a blend of soca (soul & calypso) because I am from the Caribbean I used the stage as an arena to get myself out to the world first. But it is groovy and very similar to R&B. Your goal in music? My biggest and most treasured goal is to become someone whose name is recognised in any and all parts of the world. People of different creed and race must be able to hear my music and connect with it or feel as those it relates to a part of their lives. The struggles in my life are what gives me the zeal and drive to want to be better. The song would you have liked to sing? The one song that relates to me on every level as an entertainer and an individual, is “I’ll be there” by Michael Jackson. I would have loved to sing that song. Even though he has left us, he is in a better place; he left the world with great music that can relate to anyone. He inspired me greatly. Your projects? My most recent project would be the music video for the song “Wine up on me”. Next, I want to work on creating a different style of music. I know people are afraid to adapt to change but change is sometimes good and I want to prove that. I want to create new vibes and flavours of music in the market. If you were not a singer what would you do? And what have you do before? If I weren’t a singer, I always wanted to make a difference in my life and help people in ways that one person could make a difference. I would have joined the army or police service. That way I would make a change in people’s lives. Before I started to sing though I had the position of a hostess in a restaurant. It taught me about working with people and also reminded me why I wanted to sing. If you were not a singer what would you do? And what have you do before? I would love to work with artiste such as Lil Wayne, Creed and Justin Timberlake. I have seen them on stage and the energy level and vibes they give off is what I want for myself. I have done collaborations with Skinny Fabulous. This was on a soca level. I do believe that my name is on the lips of people simply because you hear it yourself. What is Wine up on me? Wine up on me was inspired by a sexual fantasy that became a reality. It was something that was dreamt of and, an encounter allowed this fantasy to become a reality. Do you have a motto? I live by the words “we are all in this together”. What to do and you have to seduce? When it comes to charm Zoelah doesn’t have a charm. My music is enough to give me the drive and the adrenaline I need. I believe that music could change things and change the way people think. Look, in the style of dress? I find punk rock look, “sexy” and appealing. Who is your role model in fashion? I like the punk rock look of Avril Lavigne, Lady Ga Ga, Pink and Rihanna. What is your philosophy of life? I stand by the philosophy in life that “love is life” “Love is supposed to be free”. How do you see yourself in 10 years? I hope that in the next ten years I would be considered to be a high profile celebrity. Married with children? I want to be married and have children someday but it is not the main focus of my life. I will leave it all to destiny. Where would you live? The one place I absolutely adore and would love to live is in New York City. The piece that goes in a loop in your Ipod ... I insist that the one song that has been embedded within my memory and when I hear it, the only thing in the world is me and the rhythm of that song is “Love in this club” by Usher Raymond. My breasts are the most seductive part of my body. What star would you crack? The one person that gives me goose bumps is T.I.I think he’s an amazing artiste and has a great looking body. Do you already written a poem or a song for a boy? Yes there was a song that was written for a boy, it’s called “go down low”. If you were : A flat... “Studio apartment” An expression... “Sexy” A star... “Beyonce” A city... “Paris” A guy... “Michael Jackson” An object... “Microphone” A fragrance... “Dolce and Gabbana” An Adjective... “Beautiful” A word to finish? The one word that describes me “Creative.” Welcome To The Official Facebook Fan Page of International Soca Songstress Zoelah
