About Zeke Duhon

Zeke Duhon’s songs are like letters from a friend. They’re reassuring, insightful, easy to cherish. They invite contemplation; and they continue to reverberate long after the listener experiences Zeke’s effortless, honeyed voice. Born and raised in Tulsa, OK, Duhon grew up surrounded by music. Raised in a musical family, he devoured his parent’s classic records and became inspired by artists like Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles and Eric Clapton. By the age of 13 he had written his first song. He immediately began showing a natural ability, and by the time he turned 15, he had already finished his first EP and opened a local show for Never Shout Never. Although Duhon is no imitator, his broad tastes are evident in his music. You’re as likely to hear echoes of James Taylor and Elton John in his music as you are contemporary singer-songwriters like Marcus Mumford and Colin Meloy of the Decemberists. Duhon’s default mode may be meditative, but his ability to rock cannot be overlooked (his explosive cover of Johnny Cash’s swaggering Folsom Prison Blues has became a fan favorite). He is a traditionalist, yet firmly in touch with modern pop, and his ruminative nature only partially conceals a great wellspring of joy. Duhon has recently moved to one of the world’s great centers of creativity: Nashville, TN. Music City has given Duhon a bigger platform for his songwriting, and helped him further broadcast his gently-spiritual message. Within just five months of moving to Nashville, Zeke signed a major publishing deal with Big Deal Music (Ray LaMontagne, My Morning Jacket). As if that weren’t enough, he scored GRAMMY Award-winning producer Charlie Peacock (The Civil Wars) to take the helm of his first project. Zeke Duhon’s music crosses genres, broadens demographics and exemplifies universal appeal. It is easy to be carried away by his sweeping melodies, enchanted by the timbre of his voice and impressed by the architecture of his songs. His repertoire is a crackling hearth fire. In a time of chill, he’s here only to bring warmth. He says simply: “I’m a guy who likes to write songs. Hopefully these songs can help in some way.” New EP coming soon!
