Wool Sucker

Wool Sucker is a band playing primarily original tunes that draw from folk tales, magical realism, and the supernatural to craft intimate, personal stories. Each one is brought to life with a marriage of acoustic and electronic or synthetic sounds then given room to breathe and grow. We range from blues and alternative rock to country and old murder ballads.Depending on the night, we’re also a theatrical performance piece built for venues that don’t expect theater and for audiences that are much more familiar with bands. They’re there to listen, and drink, and talk to their friends, rather than intentionally opting in to a formal theater experience. Instead of requesting up front that people suspend their disbelief we try to leapfrog it. If we get it right,at least one person leaves saying: “I just had the strangest night…”

This incarnation of the show is built around the band and the songs, ranging from quiet folks tunes to garage art rock. The set list & therefore the text changes every show; it’s permanently rough and ragged and going up for the first time.
